At Sphere we’re proud to support a number of important charities each year and 2017 is no different. Throughout August, volunteers from our teams got involved in two causes for the charities we are supporting this year - Lauriston Lights and The Childhood Trust.
Lauriston Lights Summer Camps
Founded in 2013, Lauriston Lights is a charity that brings together high ability 11 year-old children from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds with university students from across the UK.
As part of of our support of Lauriston Lights, we joined them at their summer camps over two days, on 10th and 16th August, helping to deliver interactive work shops to the children.
The Childhood Trust
On Saturday 18th August, we teamed up with The Childhood Trust, a London based funding and grant making charity that works alongside grass roots charities to help alleviate the impact of child poverty, to take a number of London families for a day out at Drusillas Zoo Park in Alfriston, East Sussex.
The Childhood Trust believe every child has the right to a safe and happy childhood so they look to partner with and fund the very best initiatives and projects. It was a pleasure to be help them make the day a success and to give the families a wonderful day out.
CEO of Sphere, Ed Steer, said: “I am so pleased that Sphere was able to help some very deserving London families. It was great to see everyone having such an enjoyable day out."
