Life is unpredictable

Each week in October we are shining a light on a different consultant from Sphere who has recently returned from furlough to ask them how they found the transition from life in lockdown to the workplace has gone for them. 

Next in our series, we spoke with Natasha Chauhan, Consultant for Sphere's Future Talent desk who was in her 1st full year of recruitment when the pandemic hit.

Q. Tell us a little bit about yourself! 

N.C. "I’m Tash. I sit on the Graduate team here at Sphere Digital and specialise in placing top-tier junior candidates into Commercial positions within tech vendors. I just celebrated my first anniversary at Sphere!"

Q. How are you finding it being back from furlough? 

N.C. "I’ve been back for exactly a month now and I’m loving it! It’s been great catching up with clients and seeing how the industry is beginning to bounce back."

Q. What were the biggest challenges about returning? 

N.C. "My biggest challenge has been changing desks (and moving into the tech industry). There was a lot to learn but I’ve had a massive amount of support from my team and loads of training which has really helped me get to grips with everything!

Q. What were you most looking forward to about coming back?

N.C. "I was so excited to be back with my team! We kept in contact throughout lockdown, but seeing someone in person is just SO much better than Zoom!"

Q. What did you learn from being on furlough?

N.C. "I learnt to never take anything for granted! Life is so unpredictable – who could have predicted in January that we would have spent our summers stuck indoors?! It’s great to plan for the future, but you have to make the most of the time you have now, as you never know what’s around the corner."

Q. What are you excited about for the future?

N.C. "I’m excited to continue building a career in tech recruitment! It’s such an adaptable and fast-paced industry - I’m excited to be a part of it!"
