Are you passionate about creating accessible and inclusive digital experiences? Do you have experience accessibility testing mobile applications for accessibility across iOS and Android platforms? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you! Please note you MUST have the FULL right to work in the UK for this role, and have specific ACCESSIBILITY testing experience.
We're partnering with a leading agency who work with a DTC brand to find an Accessibility Tester to join their team for a 10-week contract. In this role, you'll focus on ensuring that the company's native apps are fully accessible to all users, including those with disabilities, and meet the latest WCAG standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough accessibility testing on native mobile apps (iOS & Android) to ensure compliance with WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) 2.1/2.2 AA standards.
- Identify accessibility issues across the apps, including visual, auditory, cognitive, and motor accessibility concerns.
- Collaborate closely with UX/UI designers and developers to provide clear, actionable feedback on accessibility improvements.
- Test and validate that the apps are usable with assistive technologies (e.g., screen readers, voice controls) and that navigation is seamless for users with disabilities.
- Document findings in detailed audit reports, outlining issues, potential solutions, and compliance status.
- Ensure the app is functional for a wide range of users, regardless of their physical or cognitive limitations.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in accessibility testing for mobile apps (native iOS & Android).
- Familiarity with WCAG 2.1/2.2 guidelines and other accessibility standards.
- Experience using accessibility testing tools such as Lighthouse, VoiceOver, TalkBack, and others.
- Strong understanding of how accessibility impacts UX design and development, especially in mobile environments.
- Experience working on large-scale DTC brands or similar projects is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to document findings clearly.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with mobile app development or UX/UI design.
- Knowledge of accessibility laws and regulations (e.g., ADA, Section 508).
- Experience with assistive technologies beyond screen readers (e.g., magnifiers, voice command tools).
