Initial Fixed-Term Contract
Salary: £28k - £38k
A key client of ours is lookign to hire a talented Video Editor on an inital fixed term contract. If you're interested in joining a creative team on an initial fixed-term contract and have at least 4 years of experience in creating branded content, we'd love to hear from you.
About the Role:
As a Mid-Weight Video Editor, you'll be at the forefront of content creation, staying ahead of trends and knowing what resonates with a brand's audience. A flair for storytelling is key-style should complement substance, and the visual application of the story is vital.
Your role will involve reviewing extensive footage and hand-picking the best shots. You will cut the best edit, select the right music, and craft a compelling story based on the brief. Additionally, you'll contribute creative solutions when needed.
You'll be comfortable with sound design and color grading, always seeking new techniques to ensure the highest-quality projects. A creative mind, combined with a solid understanding of process and file management, will be essential. You'll also be expected to create the various outputs often required for different platforms.
As a strong communicator, you'll work closely with the team to ensure you get the information and content needed to complete each project.
Above all, your passion for editing and storytelling will be your driving force.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Advanced skills in Premiere Pro CC
- Solid understanding of Adobe Audition
- Strong production workflow experience
- Competency in Photoshop
- High-level expertise in Color Grading
- Strong Sound Design experience
- Basic knowledge of After Effects / Motion Graphics
- At least 4 years of experience editing branded content
- A keen interest in trends and technology in editing
- A positive attitude and great cultural fit-sense of humor appreciated!
- Ability to work to deadlines while maintaining excellent attention to detail
- Proven experience in content editing, preferably in an agency or editorial setting
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with various content formats (e.g., blogs, social media, web copy)
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A portfolio of edited content (if available)
Responsibilities:
- Edit and assemble raw footage into polished short- and long-form content
- Ensure smooth transitions, continuity, and a visually engaging narrative
- Collaborate with other departments to reflect the work and craft from pre-production to production
- Manage and organize large volumes of footage and assets efficiently
- Maintain organized file structures and adhere to project timelines
- Deliver high-quality online exports
- Solve creative problems with the team
- Go above and beyond to make clients feel valued
- Report on project progress and timelines to senior editors
- Ensure content adheres to client specifications, guidelines, and best practices
- Apply color correction and grading effectively across projects
- Perform sound design on edits when necessary
- Take ownership of the entire editing process from concept to delivery
- Work with multidisciplinary teams to meet or exceed clients' objectives
- Handle multiple projects of varying complexities and deadlines while supporting team members
- Contribute to establishing workflows, including for freelancers
- Follow proper editing processes to produce high-quality deliverables
- Support and share skills with junior team members
- Assist in scoping projects and providing time estimates
- Provide regular updates to the Accounts team
- Ensure all work looks and sounds amazing
